Description

The Condor BO “Back Boiler” Multi-Fuel, Wood Burning Range Stove Oven for Un-vented heating system / hot water system. 4 WATER CONNECTION PORTS – Suitable for Vented or Un-Vented hot water.

Eco Design 2022 Compliant

The Condor BO is an impressive multi fuel, wood burning Range Cooker / Oven with a built in back boiler for heating central heating and domestic hot water.  We simply can’t stress strongly enough how delighted our customers have been with this Range Stove, put simply “rave results”. Hand built to a very high standard and finished in contemporary dark grey with polished silver handles, this stylish range oven incorporates an open lower storage space for log/fuel storage or utensils.

The Condor is Eco Design 2022 Compliant, in recent tests stoves that are Eco Design 2022 Compliant burnt 6 times less fuel than traditional non compliant stoves.

The Condor BO is designed to be used on an “unvented” heating system, however it can also be used on a vented system if required, and is rated for a working pressure of up to 2 bar. There are 2 primary flow connections, ( central heating and domestic hot water), and 2 primary return connections.  There is also a connection for a thermostatic probe and a Thermal Safety Valve which lets cold water in to the boiler in order to regulate the heat output. The thermal safety valve is available separately.

The Condor BO has a large firebox incorporates both primary and secondary air controls in order to optimise control and management of both the burning rate and the temperature.  An advanced convection system (air wash) draws air in through the bottom, which then passes around the combustion chamber, this also ensures clean burning and helps to keep the ceramic glass windows clear. The combustion chamber is fully lined with firebricks to prolong the life and heating efficiency, and a multi fuel grate allows for easy lighting. The firebox measures almost half a metre in depth (470mm) and 280mm tall, it will therefore take very large / long pieces of wood / logs, when required.

The Oven incorporates a middle shelf and temperature thermometer which is mounted in the ceramic glass door. The temperature of the oven can be effectively managed by a control lever which regulates how much heat is held around the outer wall of the oven; opening the lever allows the heat to escape whereas closing the lever holds the heat around the oven. The top surface of the Condor back boiler also incorporates a large hot plate for kettle / pans etc etc.

The water connections for the back boiler are located on the rear of the stove. There are 6 water connection ports in total: 1 xprimary flow and 1 x Primary return, 1 x additional flow and 1 x additional return and 2 further water connection ports to service the internal safety coil.

The flow and return for the safety coil are designed to be used in conjunction with a safety flush valve (TAS valve). The valve is connected to mains pressure cold water on the flow, the water is then discharged to waste /  drain on the return side. The TAS valve monitors the temperature of the water within the back boiler and in the event of over heating the TAS valve will open and flush cold water through the internal safety coil within the back boiler. The flush of cold water then flows out of the return to waste. The TAS Valve is not included with the Condor BO, but is available separately £89.00.

In addition we also sell a pump station that can be used in conjunction with the Condor BO, please see our separate listing for the pump station.

Examples of  plumbing schematics are available by email on request.

Essentially the Condor BO range stove oven is a fantastic product, that provides cooking, hot water and room heating in one functional range stove oven that won’t break the bank.

CE Marked to EN13240 (latest standard) and manufactured to ISO 9001 Quality Standard… please do not confuse this stove with other cheaper alternatives, it’s build quality and finish compares to other stoves that are in excess of £1500. We are often asked how we can offer our stoves at such competitive prices?..We buy direct from the manufacturers, so there is no distributor middle man, we buy in bulk, which reduces the cost price, we handle our logistics to further reduce the “landed” cost of each stove, and we are an ecommerce company with low overheads..the result..You save money on your stove. Our low prices do not reflect low quality.

Fantastic stove, not made of thin tin, (I did have my concerns!), looks great in the kitchen and heats the house a treat, looking forward to lower oil bills from now on. Mr Taylor – Bolton Lancs.

Delighted with the prompt delivery of the Condor, got it installed at the weekend and cooked our first meal in it. I’d even go so far as to say that the wifes cooking tasted even better. Thanks for all your help and a great product. Mr Fox – Chester.

Hi, the oven is fab, looks even better in my kitchen than it did in the photo’s, nearly had a roasted cat the other day when she jumped up on to the top of the cooker whilst it was lit, she won’t be doing that again. Thanks for all your help. Margaret – Lanarkshire

    Hi there

Stove was fitted and plumbed in yesterday, no dramas because it was replacing a worn out Rayburn. We must say how impressed we are with the Condor, it works an absolute treat and seems much more controllable than the Rayburn. Absolutely delighted!!! Just one small niggle is the paint hasn’t turned up! Grateful if you could send another.

  2. Fred

We’re just back from France where we managed to get the Condor installed and lit. Started off slow and easy as recommended. Day 2 and we were getting warm radiator, warm water and cooking. Bearing in mind the house is still an open plan building site, no doors to any of the rooms, just open plan throughout, by day 3 the fabric of the building was drying out slowly. We’ve had the stove burning every day for a week – even kept it in right through one night – hot showers, hot radiators, hot food, warm house, all in one! Great stove, thank you.

  3. Mark and Colette

    Hi there

The Condor stove that we recently bought from you is without doubt ‘Exceptional’ and during this cold weather has been a real boon. We have managed to keep the fire just ‘ticking over’ at night and its so easy to get a good fire back in the morning. However, I was wondering if you could supply us with another ash pan for ease of continuous burn and emptying of the ash pan? (we like to let the ash cool before emptying). If so could you give us an idea of price and availability?

    Once again, many thanks

    Mark and Colette Wintle

Just to let you know our new cooker was installed on friday and is working well.
The heat output is far better than the rayburn Nouvelle, it is more responsive and its running 5 radiators and a 42×18 hot water cylinder at present with a good heat output.
As far as consumption rate of logs go, its about the same as the Rayburn but the heat output in the kitchen is a lot better.
All in all for the price its very good.

I would rate it as 4.5 stars out of 5 and very good value for money.

Not yet had the log burner with back boiler fitted as the old one is still in place and i have got to rebuild the fireplace with cornish stone to accommodate the new fire, thats a job for when the weather warms up as we are still using the old fire.

If you have any enquiries from people in Cornwall who want to see one of these stoves working they are quiet welcome to come and see this one.

    Mr B Hobbs.

    Hi

Thought you might like a review of the Condor Range with Back boiler that we have just plumbed in for your website. It is a fantastic stove not only great to look at but is very easily running 6 radiators and hot water. It burns really well and draws amazingly plus is easy to control. Having the cooker makes it so much more useful. Great value for money do not hesitate to buy if you want central heating, hot water and a cooker.

I am very pleased and the service was great, very friendly and helpful staff. Plus the Flue was the best price anywhere!

    Many thanks

  7. Luke

Very pleased with the new Condor back boiler stove oven. Heats our seven radiators with ease with just a small amount of coal or a couple of logs, for around 8 hours. Family and friends starting to complain of house being too hot! Starting to use it for cooking, and surprised at how effective it is.
Also, very pleased with new valiant boiler they supplied and fitted, very competitive price. Very competent and helpful fitters throughout.

    Very satisfied customers

Delivered on time, on the day they said it would be delivered, which some companies seem to find difficult these days. Product looks good, looking forward to using it. Excellent service so far.
