Description

5 Inch 45 Degree Flue Elbow – Single Wall Vitreous Enamel

The 5 Inch 45 Degree Flue Elbow – Single Wall Vitreous Enamel is a durable, CE Approved flue connector designed for safe and efficient changes in direction within your stove’s flue system. This 2-segment elbow is manufactured from 1.2mm thick zero carbon steel and finished in a hard-wearing matt black vitreous enamel, making it both robust and visually appealing for any installation.

Why Choose a 5 Inch 45 Degree Flue Elbow?

A 5 Inch 45 Degree Flue Elbow is essential when your flue system needs to navigate around obstacles or smoothly change direction. This elbow is suitable for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances operating at temperatures up to 750°C, making it ideal for wood burning and multi-fuel stoves. Its single wall design ensures easy integration between your appliance and the main flue liner, chimney stack, or twin wall system.

Please note: Black stove pipe should only be used as a connecting pipe and must not be used to pass through ceilings or walls. Always use a twin wall insulated flue pipe for these applications.

For full details on safe installation and UK compliance, refer to the GOV.UK Building Regulations for chimneys and flues and HETAS installation advice.

Installation Guidelines for 5 Inch Flue Elbows

Maintain a distance of at least three times the pipe diameter from combustible materials. For a 5 inch elbow, ensure a minimum clearance of 15 inches (375mm).
Always install with the smaller diameter pointing downward to keep condensates inside the flue system.
Seal all joints with a suitable jointing compound, such as fire cement or high temperature silicone sealant, to prevent leaks and preserve the pipe’s appearance.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular inspection and cleaning are vital for safe operation, especially with solid fuel appliances. For easier maintenance, consider adding a flue pipe with access door to your system. HETAS recommends sweeping chimneys serving solid fuel appliances at least once a year to maintain safety and efficiency.
