iStove Lux 15kw Contemporary Stove with Back Boiler for Un-Vented – Closed, or Vented – Hot Water and Central Heating.

Eco Design 2022 Compliant –  80% efficiency

A stylish – neat wood burning and multi-fuel stove, that incorporates a large ceramic glass window, silver door handles / controls and an integrated back boiler for hot water and central heating. Hand built in Europe to a high standard and finished in charcoal dark grey, the iStove Lux is a substantially constructed stove, and is finished to the very highest of standards.. guaranteed.

The iStove Lux is Eco Design 2022 Compliant, in recent testing, stoves that are Eco Design 2022 Compliant consumed 6 times less fuel than non compliant stoves… the result is that the savings on fuel consumption are significant.

The integrated back boiler offers 8kw to water heating, leaving 7kw to room heating. There are 4 primary water connections on the rear of the stove, 2 x flow and 2 x return – size = male 1″ BSP. The back boiler on this stove is extremely efficient and will heat approximately 10 average sized radiators plus the domestic hot water.

In addition the back boiler incorporates an internal cooling coil, which runs through the main back boiler. The purpose of the coil is to cool the water within the back boiler. This is achieved with an additional control valve called a TAS valve. The cooling coil is designed to be fed by a mains cold water feed, and the cooling water is then discharged to waste water drain. The main cold water feed is controlled by a mechanical TAS valve which monitors the temperature of the water within the back boiler and opens when the water reaches 96 degrees. This releases a burst of mains cold water which released through the cooling coil, thus reducing the temperature of the water within the back boiler. The cooling water is kept separate from the water within the back boiler and therefore no contamination can take place. The mains cold water is then discharged to an outside drain.

In addition, when using the iStove Lux 4 port on an un-vented hot water system,  we recommend that you install a 25 litre expansion vessel and at least two 3 bar pressure release valves. We also recommend that you use our approved “thermostatic pump station” in order to increase the efficiency of the stove. Please note that the TAS valve is not included with the stove. Click Here to see TAS valve

Primary and secondary air controls allow complete and effective control over both the burn rate and temperature output, in order to maximize the efficiency of the stove. The iStove Lux also has an advanced pre-heat air wash system that ensures the large glass window stays clean to give a clear view of the flames. Further features include a large removable ash pan for easy cleaning and maintenance and a multi fuel fire grate.

The stylish design and clean lines compliment the contemporary look of this compact, yet high output stove.

The iStove Lux is also available without a back boiler, please click here to see the iStove Lux.

We also have a smaller version of the iStove without a back boiler, to view this stove please click here.

  1. Max Boyce the self builder

I have used wood stoves all my life. I am 50 and my wife alledges I’m not only permanently grumpy but I’ve also perfected my ability to be cynical about everything – Relative to me Jack Dee is a cheerful optimist.

I’ve used the Stove for 6 months – so not used in winter yet – however I in my opinion :
excellent practical and simple design, definitely excellent value.
door mechanism with large handle user friendly and safer than many traditional stoves (side opening means far less likely that a burning log can fall out on to operator than with centrally opening double doors with little knob)
one pane of glass makes for efficient cleaning – can easily take the door off to take outside and clean.
large door makes loading the fire a doddle especially with large logs.
    2 simple vents
Small ash tray and grid are light and therefore all family members can clean the fire out – what a bonus !
I inadvertantly tested the fire glove by leaving it in the ash tray and found it when i emptied the ash out. It passed the test thank goodness or the whole of the village would have been mocking me for months !

  2. Max Boyce – again

The service before during and months after the purchase is consistently unbelievably good. Advise given on air bricks regarding CO poisoning and completion certificates, connecting flues to pumice linersin limited hieght, suitability of back boiler connected up to a thermostore for running hot water, underfloor heating and upstairs readiators etc. and putting me in touch with Clever Trevor at Copper cylinders who made the thermostore. It all works spot on – So thanks for all the professional and efficent help (and for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty !!) AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE dealing with both Ashley and Nicky.

Finally they were happy to take back flu fittings suplus to requirement nearly a year after I bought them

See I can be positive !! – It hurt though !

PS there is one critism – the review box is tooooo small !

  3. MikeT

  5. Doug Scriven – O-Cycles

I purchased this stove in October 2015, we are absolutely delighted with it… smiling from ear to ear. Thank you very much the stove does exactly what we wanted it to and heats our radiators and house to perfection. I have recommended you to many friends and family. Chuffed to bits – thank you.

  6. Ann Weaver

Dear Modern Stoves, I thought I would write to say how impressed I am with your service, your Modern Stoves delivery man was immensely helpful and polite. The stove looks good as well, we are now looking forward to having it connected to our heating system.

    Thank you.

    Mrs Weaver.

  7. Terry

  8. Sarah Carlson

  9. Sandra

I decided to leave a message here on your iStove Lux Back Boiler Contemporary Multi Fuel Stove for Unvented Hot Water, we have now plumbed ours in and we are delighted with the results. We are heating 6 rads and our hot water and to date it has been trouble free (touch wood). Given that we were initially advised by a number of companies that it couldn’t be done, I must say that your technical advice was much more accurate than other suppliers and I think you are the only people who offer products and advice on matching a stove to a pressurised system. Thank you for all your assistance I am glad we persevered and opted for the back boiler version.

  10. H Reynolds

Thank you Modern Stoves, we were initially told that we couldn’t use a stove in conjunction with our combi boiler, but Modern Stoves asured us that it could be done and they were right. excelent stove and MS were very helpful in advising us of the limitations of the stove, instead of just giving Yes – Yes answers, which makes a change these days. would definitely recomend.

  11. Mr Beck

This is a reveiw of the iStove Lux Back Boiler Contemporary Multi Fuel Stove for Unvented Hot Water. Stove was installed last week and we’ve had it going since, heats the hot water and the room with less fuel than our old stove used and more heat to the room. The dog hasn’t moved from in front of it since, nor has the wife. They are clearly both pleased, and if they are happy so am I. Thank you Modern stove.
