The Condor 12kw Multi-Fuel Range Cooker Oven
Eco Design 2022 Compliant
The Condor offers a maximum heating output of 12kw, with a nominal output of 9kw and an efficiency rating of over 76% making the Condor one of the most efficient solid fuel appliances in its class.
Two front doors, both with ceramic glass windows, provide access to the firebox and the large oven. The Condor incorporates primary and secondary air controls in order to manage both the burning rate and the temperature, in addition there is an oven temperature control to allow optimum control of the oven when cooking.
A twin wall convection system (air wash) draws air in through the bottom, which then passes around the combustion chamber to maintain efficient heating, this also ensures clean burning and keeps the ceramic glass firebox window clean. The combustion chamber is fully lined with firebricks to prolong the life and increase the heating efficiency.
The Condor is Eco Design 2022 Compliant, in recent tests stoves that are Eco Design 2022 Compliant burnt 6 times less fuel than traditional non compliant stoves.
The oven incorporates a middle shelf and the glass door has a thermometer temperature gauge. Further features of the Condor include a very large removable ash pan for ease of cleaning and maintenance and a multi-fuel fire grate to facilitate burning wood and solid fuel.

After lookin at several other stove ovens, this one ticked all the boxes and was a good price. Modern Stoves delivered it to me themselves and helped me move it from the driveway through my house in to the kitchen. The delivery guy was very helpful, but it dawned on me after he had left that I didn’t offer him a cup of tea once we had got the thing in, (sorry about that!). In all I am really happy with the product.

We’re just back from France where we managed to get the Condor installed and lit. Started off slow and easy as recommended. Day 2 and we were getting warm radiator, warm water and cooking. Bearing in mind the house is still an open plan building site, no doors to any of the rooms, just open plan throughout, by day 3 the fabric of the building was drying out slowly. We’ve had the stove burning every day for a week – even kept it in right through one night – hot showers, hot radiators, hot food, warm house, all in one! Great stove, thank you.

The Condor stove that we recently bought from you is without doubt ‘Exceptional’ and during this cold weather has been a real boon. We have managed to keep the fire just ‘ticking over’ at night and its so easy to get a good fire back in the morning. However, I was wondering if you could supply us with another ash pan for ease of continuous burn and emptying of the ash pan? (we like to let the ash cool before emptying). If so could you give us an idea of price and availability?

Just to let you know our new cooker was installed on friday and is working well.
The heat output is far better than the rayburn Nouvelle, it is more responsive and its running 5 radiators and a 42×18 hot water cylinder at present with a good heat output.
As far as consumption rate of logs go, its about the same as the Rayburn but the heat output in the kitchen is a lot better.
All in all for the price its very good.
I would rate it as 4.5 stars out of 5 and very good value for money.
Not yet had the log burner with back boiler fitted as the old one is still in place and i have got to rebuild the fireplace with cornish stone to accommodate the new fire, thats a job for when the weather warms up as we are still using the old fire.
If you have any enquiries from people in Cornwall who want to see one of these stoves working they are quiet welcome to come and see this one.

I purchased the Condor cooker stove from Modern Stoves on the 10/10/2011 and have been using it ever since. In fact it’s burning today in mid May, “not that i should have to have the heating on in mid May”, but that’s the English summer for you! Cold and wet today!!!!
The cooker stove works beautifully and having owned and used it for almost 2 years I am still delighted with it. I use it every day.

We took some persuading to buy this item over the internet, and Modern Stoves were too far away for us to look at it, prior to our purchase. We bought the condor eco cooker stove in January and we have been very impressed with it. It is simple to light and control and we have it lit most days. We previously had a Prity cooker stove, which was difficult to control and clean. This is easy to clean and there is also a soot box below the oven that collects the soot from the chimney which is a useful design. All in all we have been very happy with it.
